Walking down, the open road,
a breeze through my hair, air between my toes.
I take a look around, and what do I see,
two clouds frowning, staring back at me.
I say "What's wrong," they say "The sun has gone."
So I'm left, in the rain.

Then came the downpour,
I dragged my feet, cause I didn't want more.
There was no drought, in sight,
no stars, in the sky.
"Please bring back the light."

Sitting at the crossroads,
skipping rocks, and counting my toes.
I take a look around, no umbrella can be found,
and tears from the clouds, flood the ground.
I say, "Please stop crying," they say, their hopes are dying.
So the sun won't come back,

Then came the downpour,
I dragged my feet, cause I didn't want more.
There was no drought, in sight,
no stars, in the sky.
"Please bring back the light."

So my voice rises up, to the sun,
to tell him that he's the one.
He's got to shine, show off his light,
that way the whole world can be fine.

Then the clouds smiled and cleared,
and everything we hold dear,
came out with a glow.
Who would have thought,
it'd take one voice to make a change though.
One voice.
