I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.

I swallow my pride then I spit out words,
I view your opinions, then I state mine
about the blue and red states and its state of mind.

A kind person is a one of a kind in politics,
So it's easy to talk about the negative aspects of it...
How the government spent millions of dollars on public relations
An attempt to make a sharp image.

But our picture,
Illustrated through our open eyes about the government
is already keen and potent.
But get this, we didn't paint the picture.

We bought it from an artist that displayed his or her
craft on a media driven canvas.
That is our medium.
The stakes are high and our self-esteems are low,
But that is our medium, the truth.
Hidden beneath those bombs that tend to explode that
make mushroom clouds over our beautiful polluted sky.

Why do I swallow my pride and spit out words.
Why do you spit out words before you swallow your pride?

I guess some questions can only be answered with questions,
So we've been questioning the answers behind 9/11 for years.

Like all those tears are flickered by us,
did we do this to ourselves,
is our government really America? And what is America?

The melting pot, or is it the frozen pot that just
happens to be melted with minorities?
It all makes sense, if black on black crime can exist,
Why can't a nation bite itself to be oil rich?

By the way, Somalia is oil-rich, but why are they still a poor country?
Mathematics and politics, get it?
We all want a piece of the pie.
It takes 3.14 seconds to get it, or get what I'm saying.

Praying to an unknown God,
in god we trust that no child left behind isn't behind already,
But that's too late.
The future lies in the faith of having no faith.
No faith in the system because the system has no faith in us.

But I will never be a thug.
I'm just an educated rebel with words to spit.

After I swallow my pride, and I listen,
I'm not your typical angry black man.
In fact, I'm angry at the angry black man because excuses
about his predicament won't push him to success.

So I will stress no more about the politics of living in America.
How my ancient old tattoos are meaningful,
Dreadlocks is taboo to you.

How your black statistic labels label me ignorant before I speak,
Now tell me if that is freedom of speech,
or if I am trapped in your negative perceptions of me.

I just hope Barack Obama can set us all free,
Because he relates to both black and white, now that's unity.

Because if I as a mere citizen can only swallow my
pride and spit out words,
I hope he can swallow his pride and just vomit.
A vomit over the confederate flag,
because if it's right to preserve that type of history,
Then bring slavery back.

Back whips, shackles and chains.
Chains right to go human and go left to the 1800's
now let me stop it, that's a different topic.

I flock with feathers alike,
so if you're like mine, then take whatever pride you have and evaluate it.

My pride is down my esophagus, so I can drink from your cup of tea.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States
of America, to the republic for which it stands,
One nation under God, indivisible, liberty.
